Brigitte’s trip from Bolzano to Cinque Terra in Italy
Our trip started with a brief stop in Milan for two nights where we visited the Duoma and the Sempione Park with the Castello Sforzesco.
Bolzano, a mountain village with its medieval historical center is situated in South Tyrol, the gateway to the Dolomites. We enjoyed the strenuous but fantastic trekking opportunities.
Venice, well words cannot do justice to the magic of this city. We hit the city in the early hours of the morning just before 7am and had it to ourselves.
The Cinque Terra with its golden villages perched on cliffs hanging over the wild ocean. We hiked from Levanto to Corniglia and then from Manarola to Riomaggiore. The walks through the Cinque Terra were surprisingly tough with constant up and down cliffs. Porto Verne with the white and black St Peter’s church, the Doria Castle and its gleaming marina was worth the boat trip.
